Buono coffee was founded in 1993 by Karena Rice-Schulz and Gary Sainati under a long Italian heritage. Espresso and coffee are in our blood. Dating back to the 1930’s when our grandparents and great grandparents emigrated from their motherland Italy to Seattle and Cle Elum to open and operate the Kit Kat Café and the Florence Café for many years serving not only great Italian dishes and desserts but a great tiny cup of coffee known as espresso. From a small independent coffee shop to having our own coffee service and roast created by our CEO Gary Sainati, we have grown but still stay the same family owned and operated business we were and always will be. We keep our focus on not only our coffee and small batch roasting to ensure quality, but you our consumer whom we consider part of the Buono family.
